Karsten Wussow

 M. Sc.
 Head of Production

Growing up in my father’s business, my enthusiasm for technology was practically laid in my cradle. Studying mechanical engineering at TU Braunschweig after finishing school in Hildesheim was the logical next step.

Beyond the interesting and exciting tasks, it was ultimately my wife who convinced me—after positions in mechanical engineering and technical sales—to move to Alfeld in 2021 and join Meyer Seals as a Technical Project Manager in foam extrusion. I was fortunate to be given the time I needed to get to know the (manufacturing) processes, which were previously unfamiliar to me and at the same time complex and demanding. Building on this foundation, and convinced by our employees, the team, and our company, I gladly took over the leadership of the foam extrusion department at the end of 2021. I am grateful for the trust that was placed in me even at that early stage. I truly enjoy working together every day to offer our customers around the world the best possible quality. Growing customer requirements and the constant drive to improve ensure that the work never becomes boring.

Since the end of 2022, I have been responsible for production, and in this role I am particularly proud that the profits we generate together are reinvested into the company and its further development—creating future-proof jobs and supporting healthy, organic growth.

Our strength lies in our ability to react quickly to new and changing situations without losing sight of where we come from and to whom we owe our success—our employees. We are Meyer Seals.

The slightly different questions:

  • If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
Peaceful coexistence of all people — regardless of gender, skin color, or origin.

  • Which dream or wish would you most like to fulfill?
Convincing my wife to (co‑)sail with me.

  • Which decision would you undo if you had the choice?
“What if?” I prefer to look ahead.
