What makes the cohesion and interaction with colleagues at Meyer Seals special?

What does Meyer Seals stand for and what other aspects of the company do the employees value?

I began as an apprentice at Meyer Seals in 1992 and initially worked in dispatch before moving to sales after several further training courses. After taking parental leave in 2013, I returned to dispatch where I handle air and sea freight. Employees are cared for and valued at Meyer Seals, which is clearly apparent from the many added benefits and investments in employee health. Furthermore, the company always supports further training. This means everyone can achieve something at Meyer Seals.

I started out as a machine operator at Meyer Seals in 2012. Since then, I have become a deputy shift supervisor and have completed further training to become an industrial foreman in metal. At Meyer Seals, people come together and support each other. The managers treat the employees fairly and are always available to listen. Meyer Seals offers its employees extensive opportunities to develop and progress. Colleagues are never pressed into anything, but the opportunity is there to further develop freely depending on personal preferences.

What changes have I witnessed at Meyer Seals over the past 30 years?

Meyer Seals is a very family-friendly company and I have been working here for over 30 years now. The company offers many additional benefits and the annual summer parties, and Christmas events are a definite highlight. Team spirit is very important at Meyer Seals. We all exchange a few friendly words with each other every day. Working part-time at reception, I am the first face people see when they arrive in the morning, and I act as an interface between our visitors and the individual departments.

How are recommendations for improvement put forward at Meyer Seals, and what do they deliver?

What makes Meyer Seals special to me is how the company understands and considers its employees. That is why the company always addresses a justified desire for change. Employees are afforded the opportunity to speak up when there is room for improvement. If an individual has constructive ideas or suggestions for improvement, the management is willing to accept these. My impression is that people have a strong sense of responsibility for their own workplace and therefore also towards the company.

I was initially placed with Meyer Seals in April 2017 by a temporary employment agency, although I received my employment contract to transfer to the company in October of the same year. During my time at Meyer Seals, I have gained several positive experiences and impressions. I therefore feel in good hands here.

How would I describe a working day at the production plant?

I have been working at Meyer Seals since 2017 and I was given the opportunity to work independently immediately after I completed the induction phase. I signed my permanent contract as soon as my probationary period was over. At Meyer Seals employees are not expected to work on the same machine constantly but are afforded the opportunity to switch between the machines they have been trained on, which prevents monotony. The team spirit here is outstanding and the colleagues are all here to support each other. The same also applies to the shift leaders - someone is always available to offer advice and provide support. Numerous further training opportunities are also available at Meyer Seals, which is why I plan to take a course soon to learn about new areas.

When did I become a shift leader and how did Meyer Seals support me on my path to this role?

I began working at Meyer Seals as a machine operator on the cutting line. Now, I am one of three shift leaders at our site in Limmer (Alfeld). What I like about Meyer Seals is that the company is always moving forwards. You are supported in both your personal and professional development. I also enjoy the good working atmosphere that exists between colleagues and managers – everyone is treated as an equal here.

What opportunities have been afforded to me at Meyer Seals?

I embarked on my professional career at Meyer Seals in 2011, where I began as a packaging employee and was able to develop quickly with the help of the company. I have always been supported in my desire to further my career and in my role as a mother. My personal circumstances have been consistently considered. For example, the company was not concerned that my German was not yet perfect - I was still given the opportunity to develop. I am so happy that I chose this career path.

What do I particularly enjoy about my role?

I began working for Meyer Seals as a machine operator in 2017 and I have appreciated the team spirit that prevails here ever since. The company offers its employees extensive additional benefits. These include various courses about health and participation in events such as the relay marathon, which I compete in every year. But Meyer Seals also offers good professional prospects. Some time ago, I took over as a temporary replacement for the shift leader and have since been promoted to deputy shift leader.
